As a singer he was called upon in the early 70’s by a very popular band, Korni Grupa, but after playing with them for a year, Dado formed his own legendary band TIME, consisting of, at the time, the best and the most recognized musicians. After a period of ten very successful years, Dado decided to go solo, and continued performing on stage, promoting his own, easily recognized songs and music, and becoming a legend in his own right.

During his lengthy career, Dado has striven and accomplished the feat of avoiding the traps of commercialized music, staying forever faithful to rock, soul & blues, with a sweet mixture of funk.

Up until now, he has received many awards, but the most favourite ones, for him, are the ones that were given to him for humanitarian causes.

In the Year 2006, Dado was given an award for being “ the best rock vocalist & composer “, in the past 40 years.

He has lived in, and visited many Europeean countries, where he has acquired knowledge and experience, which, have proved to be very useful to him, when recording and producing his music.

Dado has become friends with many of the stars in the musical galaxy, members of bands such as Blood Sweat & Tears, Bryan Auger & Oblivian Express, and Weather Report. But, one of his dearest friends is Bryan Adams, whom he met in Moscow in 1989 and again in Osijek last year, where Dado with Dragonfly performed on the same show.

Dragonfly & Dado Topic have performed together for the last couple of years, doing mainly live concerts, where they enjoy playing authentic rock music.

Dado and Dragonfly`s success, as the winners of the Croatian song contest, “ Dora 2007 “, he sees as a step on their way towards the stars, but he also says,
"more important than the goal itself, are the steps that you take, and the road that leads you to them."
